🔹 Case: The new Portuguese 7 Days retains its 42.4mm diameter but reduces its thickness from 14.1mm to just 13mm. This 1mm reduction is crucial, as 13mm is often considered the threshold for a watch to be classified as slim and comfortable. This enhancement significantly improves its wearability and prevents criticism that a dress watch is thicker than a Submariner.
🔹 Crystal: To achieve a slimmer profile, IWC has adopted a domed sapphire crystal, offering more space for the hands while enhancing overall aesthetics. APS has gone the extra mile by using the same domed sapphire crystal on the case back, providing an unobstructed view of the movement’s beauty.
🔹 Dial: The new model introduces noticeable refinements to the dial. The 9 o’clock small seconds subdial no longer features the previous railway-style markings, and the power reserve indicator at 3 o’clock has removed the red “1” marking. These subtle design optimizations create a cleaner, more elegant dial, emphasizing overall harmony and refinement.
